(1) to promote and assist the general good of all elderly people residing in dalton-in-furness and surrounding area by assisting the work of statutory authorities and voluntary organisations engaged in providing facilities for physical and mental recreation, developing physical improvement, furthering health, relieving poverty, distress or sickness, or in pursuing anyobjects which now are or hereafter may be deemed by law to be charitable.(2) to arrange and provide for or join in arranging and providing for the holding of exhibitions, meetings, lectures and classes in furtherance of the objects of the centre or any of them.
