(1) the promotion of the voluntary sector in lymington, in particular but notexclusively by the following means:(a) identifying the needs in the voluntary sector and establishing projectsor policies to address them;(b) liaising between charities, voluntary organisations, the local authorityand other groups on relevant issues;(c) providing services such as legal, accountancy and management adviceservices to the voluntary sector;(d) providing training, conferences, and seminars on subjects relevant tothe efficiency of the voluntary sector.'the voluntary sector' means charities and voluntary organisations.charities are organisations, which are established for exclusivelycharitable purposes in accordance with the law in england and wales.voluntary organisations are independent organisations, which areestablished for purposes that add value to the community as a whole, ora significant section of the community, and which are not permitted bytheir constitution to make a profit for private distribution. voluntaryorganisations do not include local government or other statutoryauthorities.(2) the promotion of good citizenship for the public good amongst childrenand young people by providing support and activities which develop theirskills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in societyas mature and responsible individuals.( 3 ) such other purposes that are exclusively charitable according to the lawsof england and wales as the trustees may from time to time determine.
