Objects:

assisting in the provision of recuperative holidays for persons in need, hardship or distress who are not less than sixty years of age and who are resident in the area of benefit and subject thereto in relieving either generally or individually such persons by making grants of money or providing or paying for items services of facilities calculated to reduce the need hardship or distress of such persons. (1) the objects of the charity are:(a) the relief of poverty for the public benefit by the provision of housing accommodation for people who are:(i) in need, hardship or distress; and (ii) over 55 years of age; and (iii) have been resident in the area of benefit subject to clause 10(3). (b) such charitable purposes for the benefit of the residents as the trustees decide.(c) the relief of poverty for the public benefit by utilising surplus income by: (i) the payment of discretionary payments: (ii) the payment of grants for items, services or facilities or otherwise; and (iii) the payment of grants to organisations or institutions which provide items services or facilities or other benefits to benefit people living in the area of benefit who are in need, hardship or distress and over 55 years of age.(d) such other charitable purposes for the benefit of those living in the area of benefit who are in need, hardship or distress and over 55 years of age as the trustees may decide.(2) subject to the provisions of clause 5 of the scheme, the land identified in part 1 of the schedule to the scheme must be retained by the trustees for use for the objects of the charity. (2.1 the charitable purposes of the company are: (a) the provision of housing accommodation for persons who meet the eligibility criteria; (b) such further charitable purposes for the benefit of those residents of the housing accommodation as the trustees may decide; (c) the relief of poverty for the public benefit by utilising surplus income by: (i) the payment of discretionary payments; (ii) the payment of grants for items, services or facilities or otherwise; and(ii) the payment of grants to organisations or institutions which provide items, services or facilities or other benefits to people living in the area of benefit, to benefit to people who meet the eligibility criteria; or (d) such other charitable purposes for the benefit of those living in the area of benefit as the trustees may decide. 2.2 in this clause 2 the following definitions shall apply: ”area of benefit” means the greater london area, with a preference for the london borough of southwark; and“eligibility criteria” means people who are (i) in need hardship or distress and (ii) over 55 years of age and (iii) have been resident in the area of benefit.
