"1. in relation to the developing world, the advancement of health, the relief of sickness, and the preservation of the good health of those who suffer (or are at risk of suffering) from neglected diseases, by such means as the trustees from time to time think fit, including, but not limited to, the following:1.1 carrying out research into the effectiveness of existing pharmaceuticals; 1.2 providing those involved in the funding or creation of new pharmaceuticals with strategic analysis and decision-making tools;1.3 carrying out research aimed at increasing the quality and number of pharmaceuticals available to patients; 1.4 carrying out research relating to policies and incentives governments can adopt to advance treatment and prevention;1.5 providing information to governments, founders and civil society organisations to assist them to optimise their decisions on health policy.2. the promotion of medical research and education relating to neglected diseases.3. to advance the charitable work of the policy cures organisation in australia (pca) in relation to neglected diseases.""neglected diseases"" in these articles means diseases endemic in the developing world that are not adequately treated in the population, as identified from time to time by the trustees, who may particularly have regard to (a) the world health organisation's special programme for research and training in tropical diseases (whosp). the neglected diseases currently listed by whosp are: leishmaniasis, schistosomiasis, onchocerciasis, lymphatic filariasis, chagas disease, malaria, leprosy, african trypanosomiasis, tuberculosis and dengue(b) the diseases defined as neglected in the annual international reports of global funding for innovation in neglected diseases (g-finder). the neglected diseases currently listed in the g-finder reports include, in addition to the whosp defined diseases, hiv/aids, pneumonia, meningitis, rheumatic fever and diarrhoeal diseases affecting the developing world.but the remit of the charity is not restricted to the diseases mentioned in (a) and (b)."
