1 for the benefit of the public to relieve the suffering of animals in asia (including birds and reptiles) in need of care and attention and, in particular, to provide and maintain rescue homes or other facilities for the reception, care and treatment of such animals2 to promote humane behaviour towards animals in asia (including birds and reptiles) by providing appropriate care, protection, treatment and security for animals which are in need of care and attention by reason of mental or physical illness, maltreatment, neglect, abandonment, excessive population, malnutrition, poor circumstances or ill usage and to educate the public in matters pertaining to animal welfare in general and the prevention of cruelty and suffering among animals3 the relief of sickness and the preservation of health by supporting and encouraging the vaccination of animals against rabies to protect humans and animals from disease4 to advance the same by the provision of grants to individuals and organisations5 to advance the education of the public regarding the prevention of mental and physical suffering and in all matters concerning the care and treatment of animals and animal welfare
