1. to develop the capacity and skills of the members of the socially and economically disadvantaged communities of birmingham and the west midlands in such a way that they are better able to identify, and help meet, their needs and to participate more fully in society.2. the relief of financial hardship among people living or working in birmingham and the west midlands by providing such persons with goods and or services which they could not otherwise afford through lack of means.3. the provision of information, advice and guidance for members of the community who face social exclusion and other obstacles to fully participating in society and to obtaining fair access to social security benefits, health care, education, training and legal aid. in particular but not exclusively for immigrants and people with learning disabilities and who use english as a second language.4. to provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation, education and or other leisure time activities of individuals and families who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life. in respect of this object the charity may operate anywhere in the united kingdom.
