to restore and display the historic 'tid' steam tug boat 'brent', built in 1945 as a working example of maritime heritage, being the last surviving steam vessel of the port of london authority's fleet and one of only three surviving steam vessels left of the many which were once in use on the river thames and in the london dock system. brent is also one of only three tid class tug boats left of 183 built for the navy as part of the war effort.to maintain the engineering and seafaring skills of the past by restoring and operating the boat and to preserve and display her for the public benefit and education of all, by sailing in thames, uk and european waters where and whenever possible.
