to provide convalescent homes for relieving in cases of need persons of the following classes who are invalids or are convalescent and in the following order of priority:1) persons who are or who have been employees of current or former railway undertakings including the british railways board and including any publicly owned railway undertakings2) persons who are employees of any nationalised transport undertakings in the united kingdom and any nationalised undertakings auxiliary or subsidiary thereto3) persons who have been employees of any nationalised transport undertakings in the united kingdom and any nationalised undertakings auxiliary or subsidiary thereto4) persons who are or have been employees of any public transport undertakings in the republic of ireland and any public undertakings auxiliary or subsidiary thereto which operate or have operated in conjunction with any nationalised transport undertakings in the united kingdom and with any nationalised undertakings auxiliary or subsidiary thereto; andpersons who are the spouse or other dependents of persons of above mentioned classes
