to educate the public in the art and science of brass band musicianship by the presentation of concerts and related activities.to provide and maintain a bandroom for the use of the inhabitants of slaithwaite in the metropolitan district of kirklees and the surrounding area without distinction of political, religious or other opinions, including use for: a) meetings, lectures and classes and b) other forms of recreation and lesiure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants.
