4.1 to relieve elderly, disabled and infirm people resident in cornwall and the south west who are in need, by providing services calculated to relieve the needs of such persons.4.2 to relieve financial hardship and sickness among persons who are caring for or nursing a person with a physical or mental disability and the relief of people who are chronically sick or disabled.4.3 to preserve and protect the health of those caring for people with physical, mental or sensory impairment within the family or home by offering a respite service.4.4 the relief of need by providing transport facilities in cornwall and the south west for people who have special need of such facilities because they are vulnerable, elderly, poor or disabled, people with young children or those living in isolated areas where there are no adequate public transport facilities and other people in need.4.5 the relief of financial hardship among people living in cornwall and the south west by providing such persons with services which they could not otherwise afford through lack of means.4.6 to promote and protect the physical and mental health of sufferers of sensory impairments and their families in cornwall and the south west through the provision of financial assistance, support, services and practical advice.4.7 to promote the voluntary sector for the benefit of the public in the county of cornwall and the south west by:(a) liaising between charities, voluntary organisations, government agencies and other groups on relevant issues;(b) assisting in the administration of funding programmes to the voluntary sector;(c) providing information to the press and the public on the operation of, or problems encountered by, the voluntary sector; and(d) acting as a representative of the voluntary sector in relation to government policies and legislation.”
