Objects:

1. the prevention or relief of poverty in burma, and associated refugee camps (inclusive of all ethnic minority groups), by providing or assisting in the provision of education, training, healthcare projects and all the necessary support designed to enable individuals to generate a sustainable income and be self-sufficient. 2. the relief and assistance of people in burma who are victims of war or natural disaster, persecution, trouble, or catastrophe in particular by the supplies of medical aid, shelter or food directly or through other organisations. 3. the relief of financial hardship amongst those granted refugee status and their dependants living (temporarily or permanently) in countries bordering burma and/or in third nation countries. 4. to advance the education and training of those granted refugee status and their dependants living (temporarily or permanently in countries bordering burma and/or in third nation countries) in need thereof, so as to advance them in life and assist them to adapt within a new community. 5. to advance the christian faith for the benefit of the burmese people in accordance with the following doctrines: we believe that there is one god and that he has revealed himself through his son, jesus christ and he continues to reveal himself through the holy spirit. we believe the holy scriptures, both old and new testaments, as originally given by god, are divinely inspired, without error, entirely trustworthy, and constitute the only supreme authority in all matters of faith, teaching and behaviour. we believe in the essential deity of our lord jesus christ and his total humanity through the virgin birth, and that all the scriptures from first to last centre about him, his person and work, his sacrificial death upon the cross and his coming again. we believe that sinners are saved by grace through faith alone and not of themselves, it is the gift of god, not of works. we believe that our redemption has been accomplished solely by the blood of our lord jesus christ, who was made to be sin, and made a curse for us, dying in our place, a sacrifice acceptable to god and effectual for every sinner who receives him. we believe in the eternal salvation of all who are born again by the spirit of god through faith in christ as revealed in the scriptures, and that it is the privilege of all such to be assured of their present salvation and eternal life. we follow the great commission of christ to “go and make disciples of all the nations” (matthew 28:18) and the teaching of the apostle john, “but whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of god abide in him? … let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.” (1 john 3:16-17) in furtherance of these objects, but not otherwise, the trustees will:a) raise awareness of the situation in burma and encourage public support in the east midlands and other areas; andb) provide support to missionaries dedicated to working with the burmese people in burma and bordering countries.
