Objects:

the charity's objects (the objects) are for the public benefit (including but not limited to individuals, families and wider communities) throughout lancashire and the north west region primarily but not exclusively in the blackburn with darwen district (?the area of benefit?): (a) community capacity building to develop the capacity and skills of socially disadvantaged communities throughout the area of benefit in such a way that they are better able to identify, and help meet, their needs and to participate more fully in society;(b) promote social inclusion to promote social inclusion for the public benefit by preventing people from becoming socially excluded, relieving the needs of those people who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate into society;for the purpose of this clause ?socially excluded? means being excluded from society, or parts of society, as a result of one or more of the following factors: unemployment; financial hardship; youth or old age; ill health (physical or mental); substance abuse or dependency including alcohol and drugs, discrimination on the grounds of sex, race, disability, ethnic origin, religion, belief, creed, sexual orientation or gender reassignment; poor educational or skill attainment; relationship and family breakdown; poor housing (that is housing that does not meet basic habitable standards); crime (either as a victim of crime or as an offender rehabilitation into society).(c) advancement of health the preservation and protection of good physical and mental health of individuals, families and the wider community of the area of benefit including by the provision of support and counselling;(d) advice and activities to act as a resource by providing advice and assistance and organising programmes of physical, educational and other activities for individuals, families and the wider community as a means of(i) advancing in life and helping people by developing their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as independent, mature and responsible individuals,(ii) advancing education, (iii) relieving unemployment; (e) assistance for voluntary organisations the promotion of the voluntary sector for the public benefit by advancing the learning and development of voluntary sector organisations working for the benefit of the public in any field compatible with any of the above objects (a) to (d) in particular by the provision of training and education services. the voluntary sector means charities and voluntary organisations: charities are organisations which are established for exclusively charitable purposes in accordance with the law of england and wales;voluntary organisations are independent organisations, which are established for purposes that add value to the community as a whole, or a significant section of the community, and which are not permitted by their constitution to make a profit for private distribution. voluntary organisations do not include local government or other statutory authorities.
