Objects:
(a)to promote and support the education (including social and physicaltraining) of disadvantaged children living in nepal by (i) the awardingto such persons of scholarships, maintenance allowances or grants asthe charity’s trustees think fit tenable at any educational establishmentincluding any university, college or institution of higher education andwhich will enable them where necessary to undertake travel infurtherance of that education or (ii) the awarding of such maintenanceallowances or grants as the charity’s trustees think fit that will enablethem to prepare for entry to any occupation, trade or profession uponleaving any educational establishment.(b) the relief and assistance of people in any part of the world who arethe victims of war or natural disaster, trouble or catastrophe in suchways as the charity’s trustees think fit including (i) the supply ofmedical aid to such persons (ii) arranging for the purchase anddelivery of aid to affected areas (iii) co-operating with others to getaid to affected areas and (iv) identifying the real needs of thoseaffected and ways of meeting those needs.(c) to promote social inclusion for the public benefit by working with thepeople of the ghurka community in the united kingdom andnorthern ireland, who are socially excluded on the grounds of theirethnic origin, religion, belief or creed, to relieve the needs ofsuchpeople and assist them to integrate into society, in particular by: (i)providing local network groups that encourages and enables theghurka community to participate more effectively with the widercommunity;(ii)increasing, or co-ordinating opportunities for membersof the ghurka community to engage with service providers, to enablethose providers to adapt services to better meet the needs of thatcommunity.(d) to promote human rights as set out in the universal declaration ofhuman rights and subsequent united nations conventions anddeclarations) throughout the world by all or any of the followingmeans:a. monitoring abuse of human rightsb. obtaining redress for the victims of human rights abuse;c. relieving need amongst the victims of humans right abuse;d. research into human rights issues;e. providing technical advice to government and others onhuman rights matters;f. contributing to the sound administration of human rightslaws;g. commenting on proposed human rights legislation;h. raising awareness of human rights issues;i. promoting public support for human rights;j. promoting respect for human rights among individuals andcorporations;k. international advocacy of human rights;l. eliminating infringements of human rightsin furtherance of this object but not otherwise, the trustees shallhave the power to engage in political activity provided that thetrustees are satisfied that the proposed activities will further thepurposes of the charity to an extent justified by the resourcescommitted and the activity is not the dominant means by whichthe charity carries out its objects.(e) the promotion of racial harmony with particular reference to racialharmony between the ghurka community of the united kingdomof great britain and northern ireland and other racial groups livingwithin the united kingdom of great britain and northern irelandfor the public benefit by:-a. promoting knowledge and mutual understanding betweendifferent racial groups;b. advancing education and raising awareness about differentracial groups to promote good relations between persons ofdifferent racial groups;c. working towards the elimination of discrimination on thegrounds of race.d. in furtherance of the above the establishment and maintenance ofa cultural centre for the ghurka people of nepal, whichpromotes in particular (i) ghurka music and dance (ii) ghurkaart in all its forms (iii) ghurka cuisine and (iv) ghurka historyand tradition.
