2. charitable purposes2.1. to relieve the needs of and to promote, protect and support the good health of children, their families and/or carers, in particular but not exclusively for children who have survived encephalitis and acquired brain injury (abi) to help them to manage and cope with the diagnosis by –1. supporting children and families affected by encephalitis and abi from diagnosis and beyond,2. providing funding for research into childhood encephalitis and abi including causes, symptoms and potential early diagnosis,3. educating professionals and providing essential training on childhood encephalitis and abi for those who support children with encephalitis and abi,4. advancing the awareness and understanding of encephalitis and abi in children for the public benefit, 5. knowledge sharing of first-hand experiences, advice and guidance to families, educators, medical professionals or any persons requiring such knowledge.2.2. the above purposes are the company’s charitable purposes for the purposes of the 2011 act. for as long as the company is a registered charity, its purposes may only be altered with the prior consent of the charity commission and in accordance with any conditions attached to such content.
