to relieve the needs of children and young people resident in devon aged 0-25 with additional needs, their parents, carers and families, particularly but not exclusively by: a) promoting and enabling communication between such parents, families and carers and relevant local authorities, education, care and health service providers and other agencies and organisations, in order for the views of such parents, families and carers to be identified, b)facilitating parent carer involvement, participation and engagement opportunities working as equal partners across relevant services. planning, delivery and evaluation and facilitating the opportunity for service planners, providers and other agencies and organisations to feedback to parents and carers on decisions and planning resulting from consultation; c) providing advice and signposting for information, learning opportunities and training to the parents, families and carers, promoting the removal of barriers for a disadvantaged group of people both the children and young people and the parent carers; d) enabling parents and carers to ensure that the needs of the children and young people are represented in relation to the direction, development and implementation of current and future service provision, policies and strategies which may impact on the lives of such children and young people or their support networks at local, regional and national levels; and e) the promotion of partnership working and learning opportunities between such parents, families and carers and relevant practitioners and professionals to raise awareness and mutual understanding of such children and young people and the needs of their support networks.
