"1. to advance the education of the public in the subject of the working horse:(a) by promoting, sustaining and increasing individual and collective knowledge and understanding in the working horse;(b) through research (the useful results will be made available for the public benefit); and(c) by preserving and maintaining the heritage and historic tradition of work with the working horse.2. to advance environmental protection for the public benefit through the promotion of sustainable development and biodiversity by, and research into (publishing the useful results for the public benefit), the use of the working horse as a renewable energy source (by “sustainable development†we mean ""development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needsâ€).3. to promote humane behaviour towards working horses and to advance the education of the public in their welfare and animal welfare generally by promoting appropriate working practices for the working horse and in particular supporting the improvement of the harness and equipment for the working horse.4. to encourage, promote and improve the breeding of the working horse to ensure its preservation for the public benefit.5. to promote agriculture and forestry by sustainable means through use of the working horse."
