Objects:

(a) to use the premises for the purposes of providing spiritual uplift and peace of mind to the followers of ten sikh gurus and the sri guru granth sahib ji.(b) to hold congregations and meetings for prayer, worship, recitation and teachings of sikh religious tenets and doctrines.(c) to make arrangements for the performance of marriage ceremonies, according to the rites and rituals of the sikh religion in accordance with the local marriage act.(d) to organise special diwans for the purpose of furthering the propagation of the ideas, principles and theology of the sikh religion by inviting eminent speakers, learned philosophers, historians and research scholars.(e) to work for the recognition of the sikh religion among other religions of the world in the united kingdom and western world.(f) to encourage and to make arrangements for sikh youth and young boys and girls to take part in hymn singing (kirtan) and to learn music and raag.(g) to make arrangements for amrit sanchar (baptism and initiation ceremony(h) to celebrate the religious anniversaries of the sikh gurus and the bestowment anniversary of sri guru granth sahib ji.(i) to give moral and financial support to any sikh philosopher seeking higher education.(j) to acquaint sikhs and non-sikhs about life teachings and philosophy of the gurus and to distribute free of charge sikh in punjabi, english and other languages.(k) to make necessary arrangements for those people who want to change their names after being baptised, ensuring that local laws are not ignored.(l) to encourage activities to develop the punjabi language and culture and to programme specific efforts for this purpose.(m) to encourage sikh youth of both sexes to participate in sports(n) to make maximum effort for the development of the punjabi language and gurmakhi script.(o) to wage a constant struggle against racial discrimination, social evils, dowry system and religious discrimination.(p) keeping in mind the present political situation in the punjab, to make efforts for the establishment of khalistan.(q) every year, the gurdwara will have one book published in punjabi and english. this book should have a minimum of five articles in punjabi and five in english. these articles should be based on any aspect of sikh faith, sikh politics, sikh history, sikh society, current affairs or issues faced by younger generations. efforts should be made for the worldwide distribution of such books. services of sikh writers and scholars should be acquired for this purpose.
