object 1to advance the education of the public in the subject of dementia by:- providing education and training sessions for the public, family carers and people diagnosed with a dementia- delivering the national dementia friends sessions to the public to enable a wider understanding of dementia in communities- supporting the development of dementia friendly communities through meetings and training and education events- providing the opportunity for members of the public to obtain national qualifications in dementia- actively supporting the hope group, made up of family carers and people diagnosed with a dementia, to carry out talks, presentations and education sessions to help others to learnobject 2the relief of family carers and those in poor health, through a diagnosis of dementia, by the provision of:- a sitting service in the home in order to give respite to a family carer- group meetings for people with a dementia to enable family carers to have free time for respite- a sitting service for people with a dementia so that family carers can attend meetings or training/education eventsobject 3to relieve financial hardship and sickness among persons who are caring for or nursing someone with a diagnosis of dementia by the provision of training and advice for those responsible for their care by:- providing opportunities for families to join in with local community events at a low cost, thus reducing stress and helping to increase well-being for all- offering carers, especially from families in rural areas, opportunities to attend support meetings on a monthly basis- providing a telephone, electronic and 1 to 1 service that enables family carers to receive education, guidance and support in living and helping someone diagnosed with a dementiaobject 4to relieve the mental and physical sickness of families resident in england suffering bereavement or loss through a diagnosis of dementia for such persons by:- offering a counselling and support service via telephone, electronic or on a 1 to 1 basis for families who may be going through the various stages of bereavement at diagnosis of dementia, during the living well phase and also at the death of a family member as a result of dementiaobject 5the promotion of social inclusion among people diagnosed with dementia who are socially excluded from society, or parts of society, as a result of their dementia by:- developing dementia friendly communities to help members of the public to consider how they can contribute to the continuing engagement of families and people diagnosed with a dementia; and- running community events, such as choirs and tea dances, where members of the public and those diagnosed with a dementia attend and mix freely, thus enabling and encouraging continuity of community inclusion.
