the objects of the charity are:-1. to promote for the benefit of the public the conservation and improvement of the physical and natural environment by supporting and advancing the work of iucn, international union for conservation of nature and natural resources, in influencing, encouraging and assisting societies throughout the world to conserve the integrity and diversity of nature and to ensure that the use of natural resources is equitable and ecologically sustainable.2. to promote sustainable development for the benefit of the public by:(i) the preservation, conservation and protection of the environment and the prudent use of natural resources;(ii) the relief of poverty and improvement of conditions in life in socially and economically disadvantaged communities; and(iii) the promotion of sustainable means of achieving economic growth and regeneration.'sustainable development' means development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
