to protect, preserve and advance the conservation of wild- and captive-born orang-utans by engaging in, encouraging and supporting:a) research studies of the orang-utan genome, provided that the results of such studies are disseminated to the public at large and that all research is conducted non-invasively and with approval of the relevant institutional animal care and use committee, or equivalent body, where applicable;b) the discovery, invention, improvement, development and application of protocols, procedures, methods and processes that may in any way advance the conservation or protection of orang-utans using genetic methods;c) the collection, storage and maintenance of orang-utan genetic samples and materials;d) co-operation and collaboration with other organisations, whether situated in the united kingdom or elsewhere, to promote, conserve and protect both wild- and captive-born orang-utans;ande) other endeavours that may advance the protection and conservation of wild and ex-situ orang-utan populations, as the trustees may from time to time deem worthy.
