1. to promote, sustain and advance the education of the public, in particular physiotherapists, allied health professionals and medics on the subject of foot and ankle conditions diagnosis and evidence for treatment and management. this increase in individual and collective knowledge and understanding will be achieved by:a) providing a public website that is regularly updated.b) organising lectures and conferences and other continuing professional activities for physiotherapists, allied health professionals and medics. this in turn provides public benefit by up-skilling within the allied health and medical professions.c) to provide networking and information sharing events or meetings.d) supporting and assisting association members to organise, promote and run local regional continuing professional development opportunities, networking and educational meetings, and promotion of these events to other members or affiliated medical or allied health professionals.e) publishing a newsletter to be disseminated to the charity’s members.2. to promote research for the public benefit in all aspects of foot and ankle conditions and to help disseminate the useful results.3. for the public benefit to promote and provide opportunities for further education in foot and ankle problems for physiotherapists in the united kingdom in such ways as the charity trustees think fit, including by:a) awarding to such persons scholarships, maintenance allowances or grants tenable at any local or international university, college or institution of higher or further education.b) awarding to such persons travelling fellowships, grants or bursaries to help them spend time in local or international centres of clinical excellence or clinical expertise.c) awarding to such persons travelling fellowships, grants or bursaries to help in providing their education and to undertake travel in furtherance of that education, either locally or internationally.d) awarding to such persons grants or allowances for set pieces of work on behalf of the association, such as undertaking evidence reviews or researching and then publishing guidelines or other pieces of work that will help inform clinical practice and improve the quality of patient care.
