1) the relief of sickness and the preservation of health among people residing permanently or temporarily in the borough of newham and its neighbouring boroughs (the “area of benefitâ€) in particular but not exclusively by assisting in the treatment and care of persons suffering from mental or physical illness of any description or in need of rehabilitation as a result of such illness.2) to relieve the needs of people in the area of benefit, with a focus on those with physical and mental health issues, through the provision of financial assistance, support, education and practical advice.3) to develop the capacity and skills of the members of the socially and economically disadvantaged community of the area of benefit in such a way that they are better able to identify, and help meet, their needs and to participate more fully in society.
