the objects of the cio are, within the area of the city of sunderland and surrounding areas,a) to promote the preservation of mental health and to assist in relieving and rehabilitating persons suffering from mental disorder or conditions of emotional or mental distress requiring advice or treatment: andb) to promote the study of and research into mental health disorder and emotional or metal distress and to obtain and make records of and disseminate to the public the useful results of such research and to educate the public in matters relating to mental health.nothing in this constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the cio for the purposes which are not charitable in accordance with [section 7 of the charities and trustee investment (scotland) act 2005] and [section 2 of the charities act (northern ireland) 2008]
