to advance teacher education for the public benefit, in particular but not exclusively by:• by providing market qualifications to disadvantaged teachers in pakistan with the aim of alleviating poverty; • to develop and enhance the capacity of professional teachers, education leaders, teacher educators and researchers in pakistan, bangladesh and sri lanka. • developing the capacity and skills of social and economically disadvantaged in-service teachers in pakistan, bangladesh and sri lank by providing partnership/training with uk universities;• providing partnership with uk universities for knowledge sharing, faculty training and the development of a career ladder for teachers both in pakistan and the uk.• to develop and enhance the capacity of professional teachers, education leaders, teacher educators and researchers.• to develop a robust quality assurance mechanism and financial controls, using both internal and external mechanisms• to obtain both national and international accreditation for the programmes offered.• to undertake research with partner uk institutions in school effectiveness and education policy.• to advocate for change aimed at professionalizing teaching.• to assess the impact of its programmes on schools and in the larger education system.• develop partnership between vmie and uk schools to create a group of continually “improving†schools as our base.• develop comprehensive outreach of global systems (c.o.g.s) with professional development modules offered in partnership with international experts to strengthen school effectiveness.• conduct research on school effectiveness and education policy in partnership with recognised international education institutions.• to establish and operate a state-of-the-art centre of excelence in teacher education in karachi and in time replicate this institute in other cities of pakistan and other countries and develop uk partnerships
