to relieve the stresses experienced by carers over the age of 18 who have care needs, as a result of disability, illness or age within the isle of wight (the carer may reside in or work in or care for a person who resides within the isle of wight), in particular but not exclusively by:- providing a contact point for help for carers over the age of 18;- identifying carers who struggle to cope in their caring role;- working with other agencies and charities to develop services for carers;- offering carers a break through support groups;- gathering and disseminating information relevant to carers issues;- raising awareness of and promoting the needs of carers throughout isle of wight with local policy makers and service providers;- raising funds to achieve the above.
