3.1 the objects for which justice culture is established (the “objects”) for the public benefit are:3.1.1 to relieve the poverty, distress, and suffering caused to victims of human trafficking and advance their prospects, in particular but not exclusively by:a) meeting the immediate basic needs of victims such as shelter, food, and clothing.b) providing victims with information on their statutory entitlements and advocating on their behalf to obtain these entitlements;c) assisting victims to learn life-skills and engage with a range of professional services as necessary, e.g. medical, psychological, legal, educational, and vocational services. 3.1.2 to promote the prevention, reduction, and detection of human trafficking, in particular but not exclusively by:a) educating the public and community stakeholders on human trafficking;b) mobilising the public and community stakeholders into action on the issue of modern day slavery, and on behalf of victims; c) engaging in global advocacy on issues of modern day slavery as appropriate. in all cases working anywhere in the world.3.2 in these objects:3.2.1 “human trafficking” is legally defined in the un convention against transnational crime 2000 (untoc); specifically article 3 of the ‘protocol to prevent, suppress and punish trafficking in persons, especially women and children’, and subsequent additions, including article 2(1) of the directive 2011/36/eu of the european parliament and of the council.3.2.2 “human trafficking” is synonymous with “modern day slavery”.
