the objects of the cio are the advancement and preservation of health through research into the genetic and biological aspects of eating disorders in close collaboration with academic and research institutions and the families and individuals affected with these disorders with the publication of any useful results of such research and promoting the treatment and care of persons suffering from or in need of rehabilitation as a result of eating disorders by the provision of a database of knowledge on which advances in understanding, education, clinical practice, and ultimately new treatments may be predicated.
