3.1 the objects (the “objects”) of the company are the advancement of the education of the public in one or more of the following ways:3.1.1 by promoting and widening participation in education and training, particularly by those adults who have previously been excluded from educational opportunities;3.1.2 by improving the quality and flexibility of education provision for the public benefit, primarily for those adults who have previously been excluded from educational opportunities;3.1.3 by improving access to learning opportunities and facilitating progression to further learning, employment and higher education particularly through the award of credits and credit-based qualifications;3.1.4 by enhancing the reputation of the company through engagement at a strategic level with its stakeholder organisations and others in the south west and elsewhere;3.1.5 by operating as a proactive, innovative and responsive organisation with respect to curriculum development and capacity building for local learners by initiating and supporting the provision of opportunities for education, training and learning within the context of local, regional and national agendas;3.1.6 by playing a major role in supporting government policy agenda for raising standards and achievement of individuals, widening participation and promoting new opportunities for community involvement;3.1.7 by providing a personalised quality assured service to members and users across the south west and elsewhere that is cost efficient and takes account of competition from other awarding bodies;3.1.8 by providing a secure and viable awarding organisation for the future within the south west and elsewhere;3.1.9 by providing a network with expertise and intelligence of the external environment within which the company operates in order to provide staff development, information, guidance and networking to stakeholder organisations in all sectors; 3.1.10 by meeting the requirements of all appropriate regulatory bodies including ofqual and the quality assurance agency for higher education in the provision of its accreditation service and access to higher education;3.1.11 by operating a high quality efficient organisation with a commitment to continuous improvement offering all aspects of the service within a quality assured and transparent framework.
