Objects:

the objects of the charity ('the objects') are:1. to further the education of young persons in south africa and in pursuance of this object the trustees may apply the trust fund in one or more of the following ways:(a) in awarding scholarships, bursaries or maintenance allowances tenable at any school, university or other educational establishment approved by the trustees to young persons in south africa who are in need of financial assistance to further their education(b) in providing financial assistance, outfits, clothing, tools, instruments, books or other equipment to young persons in south africa to further their education(c) in awarding to young persons in south africa grants or maintenance allowances to enable them to travel in furtherance of their education(d) in funding the appointment and training of teachers(e) in funding the setting up of a school or schools(f) in providing their education (including the study of music or other arts), to undertake travel in furtherance of that education or to prepare for entry to any occupation, trade or profession on leaving any educational establishment (g) in otherwise furthering the education of young persons in south africa2. to educate and assist young persons in south africa through their leisure time activities so as to develop their physical, mental, moral and spiritual capacities that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society and that their conditions of life may be improved 3. to advance in life and help young persons in south africa through:(a) the provision of recreational and leisure time activities provided in the interest of social welfare, designed to improve their conditions of life;(b) providing support and activities which develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals(c) to help young people, especially but not exclusively through leisure time activities, so as to develop their capabilities that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society.(d) to act as a resource for young people in south africa by providing advice and assistance and organising programmes of physical, educational and other activities as a means of:i. advancing in life and helping young people by developing their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as independent, mature and responsible individuals;ii. advancing education;iii. relieving unemployment;iv. providing recreational and leisure time activity in the interests of social welfare for people living in the area of benefit who have need by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, poverty or social and economic circumstances with a view to improving the conditions of life of such persons.4. to prevent and relieve poverty and suffering of the inhabitants of south africa as the trustees see fit by providing: grants, items and services to individuals in need and/or charities, or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty and in particular (without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing) to relieve young persons in south africa in cases of need, hardship or distress5. to prevent and relieve poverty by assisting with or by the provision of housing for disadvantaged people in south africa (without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing) to relieve young persons in south africa in cases of need, hardship or distress6. for such charitable purposes for the general benefit of the inhabitants of south africa as the trustees shall think fit.
