3.1 the objects of the cio are to:- (a) advance education for the public benefit by encouraging and promoting participation in the study, knowledge and enjoyment of science and technology, history and the arts with special reference to cornwall, the surrounding area and the isles of scilly; and (b) promote the effective use of charitable resources by museums and art galleries in cornwall, the surrounding area and the isles of scilly for the benefit of the public, in particular, but without limitation, by providing a means by which museums and art galleries in cornwall, the surrounding area and the isles of scilly can collaborate with a view to enabling them to collect, preserve, interpret and provide access to collections of local, regional, national and international significance.
