the objects of the cio are the advancement of education for the public benefit.in furtherance of this object the cio may do all or any of the following:• strengthen the provision of high quality initial teacher training by working in partnership with the university of cumbria, school direct and carlisle secondary learning consortium in both rural and urban small school settings.• broaden the range and scope of continuing professional development opportunities within and beyond the rural learning alliance.• develop the rural learning alliance’s capacity to identify and develop leadership talent.• offer high quality school to school support• develop and deploy specialist leaders in education.• build on research and development currently taking place.
