"the objects of the cio are within the context of the social teaching of the roman catholic church:(a) to relieve poverty and advance health amongst people of all faiths and none, and in particular those of irish nationality or descent (""the target group""), and to provide advocacy on their behalf with statutory authorities and other organisations;(b) to develop the capacity of socially and economically disadvantaged persons within the target group in such a way that they are better able to identify and meet their needs and to participate more fully in society; and(c) to promote such other charitable objects for the public benefit as are exclusively charitable according to the laws of england and wales as the charity trustees shall from time to time think fit."
