1.the advancement of good health and wellbeing during pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period;2.to advance education in the subjects of antenatal, child development / parenting skills, first aid, money management, baby massage, signing or people learning for pleasure;3.to help young people, especially but not exclusively through leisure time activities, so as to develop their capabilities that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society;4.the promotion of social inclusion among all people in a community; who may have just given birth, who may be socially excluded from society, or parts of society, or as a result of having just given birth, suffering post natal depression, having a baby or child with special needs, not having any friends or extended family in the area or having given up work, unemployed, financial hardship, youth or old age;5.to develop the capacity and skills of members of socially and / or economically disadvantaged communities in such a way that they are better able to identify and meet their needs and to help them to participate more actively in society;6.the prevention or relief of poverty by providing items and services to individuals in need and by the recycling and provision of furniture, clothes and other household items for adults and babies/children; and7.to promote the voluntary sector for the benefit of the public by:-a)liaising between charities, voluntary organisations, government agencies and other groups on relevant issues; b)providing training, conferences and seminars on subjects relevant to the efficiency of the voluntary sector;c)facilitating the creation of new voluntary organisations to meet unmet needs; d)extending the participation of sections of the community who are under-represented within the voluntary sector;e)promoting the mental and moral welfare and improvement of the community.‘the voluntary sector’ means charities and voluntary organisations.• charities are organisations, which are established for exclusively charitable purposes in accordance with the law of england and wales.• voluntary organisations are independent organisations, which are established for purposes that add value to the community as a whole, or a significant section of the community, and which are not permitted by their constitution to make a profit for private distribution. voluntary organisations do not include local government or other statutory authorities.
