the following objects are for the public benefit in bury and the surrounding areas:-1)the prevention or relief of poverty by facilitating the provision of items and services to individuals in need through charities or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty; and2)to promote the voluntary sector by:a)providing a community hub offering work and meeting space for the provision of services by the voluntary sector;b)identifying the needs of the voluntary sector and establishing projects or policies to address them;c)liaising between charities, voluntary organisations, government agencies and other groups on relevant issues; andd)providing representatives of the voluntary sector to act in relation to government policies and legislation.(*the voluntary sector’ means charities and voluntary organisations.• charities are organisations, which are established for exclusively charitable purposes in accordance with the law of england and wales.• voluntary organisations are independent organisations, which are established for purposes that add value to the community as a whole, or a significant section of the community, and which are not permitted by their constitution to make a profit for private distribution. voluntary organisations do not include local government or other statutory authorities. )3) to develop the capacity and skills of the members of the socially and economically disadvantaged community in such a way that they are better able to identify, and help meet, their needs and to participate more fully in society.
