1. to advance the education of the public in general in england, wales, scotland and northern ireland (and particularly amongst professionals working in the field of trauma and abuse recovery, as well as survivors of such trauma and abuse) in the physical and psychological effects of trauma and abuse and how recovery can be effected, specifically but not exclusively where such trauma and abuse has resulted in a dissociative disorder or post-traumatic stress disorder (ptsd). 2. the relief of the physical and mental sickness of persons in need by reason of having suffered trauma and abuse, whether in childhood or adulthood, especially but not exclusively those who suffer as a result of such trauma and abuse from a dissociative disorder or post-traumatic stress disorder (ptsd), in particular by the provision of counselling and support.
