to promote social inclusion for the public benefit by preventing people from becoming socially excluded, relieving the needs of those people who are socially excluded (primarily by learning disability or physical disability) and assisting them to integrate into society, primarily by providing opportunities for such people to participate in musical activities. for the purpose of this clause social exclusion comprises a number of factors which often interact to produce a multiple level of social exclusion. for example social exclusion may be due to an individual’s mental and physical disabilities restricting that individual’s ability to participate in social and economic activity, drive a car or access public transport, confidence to participate or join social, cultural or artistic societies or have the necessary financial means to fully participate in the community and society.
