a. to promote commerce and industry, in particular the information technology and digital industries and information and technology and digital aspects of commerce and industry generally in greater manchester and the north west of england (together referred to as “the sector†and “the area of benefitâ€), for the public benefit by:1. promoting and advancing the development of a more open business community, including stakeholders in the public, private and education sectors and by facilitating greater access to, and sharing of, resources and knowledge for the public benefit; 2. promoting and advancing the training and education of children and young people in general, and of people of any age who are employed or intending to be employed in the sector;3. promoting research into skill levels and skills gaps within the sector and the publication of the useful results of that research and collaborating with public authorities and universities to alleviate such gaps for the public benefit; 4. promoting research into available sources of finance whether in the form of capital investment, loans or grants to assist people wanting to start and grow their own businesses and publication of the useful results of that research for the public benefit; 5. promoting research into available sources of advice and mentoring, affordable working spaces and other services to assist people wanting to start and grow their own businesses and publication of the useful results of that research for the public benefit;6. promoting research into best practice in the development of similar information technology and digital industries communities internationally, to build closer links with such communities, and publication of the useful results of that research for the public benefit by furthering this object the company will support and encourage, by charitable means, inward investment and economic development in the sector and in the area of benefit.b. to further such other charitable purposes, as shall be exclusively charitable under the law of england and wales, as the trustees shall decide in the area of benefit.
