1 to advance public education by fostering and promoting for the benefit of the public the improvement and development of artistic knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the arts and crafts among the inhabitants of the area of benefit (meaning the area of east grinstead or the neighbourhood thereof);2 to provide and assist in the provision of community facilities for recreation and other leisure time occupation of the inhabitants of the area of benefit in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving their conditions of life in particular but not exclusively by the provision and maintenance of an arts and community centre; and3 to further such other charitable purposes for the benefit of inhabitants of the area of benefit as the charity trustees see fit from time to time.
