the charity's objects are to promote and advance (i) the human rights of women and girls (as set out in the un convention on the elimination of discrimination against women and other un conventions, declarations and protocols; in african, asean, european and inter-american human rights treaties; and in domestic constitutions and legislation on human rights) where the enjoyment of those rights is detrimentally impacted by violence against women and girls or otherwise as a result of their gender; and (ii) the elimination of gender inequality throughout the united kingdom and internationally by all or any of the following means:a. monitoring abuses of the human rights of women and girls, focusing in particular on abuses resulting from violence against women and girls;b. monitoring compliance with international and domestic human rights standards promoting and protecting the rights of women and girls, in particular in relation to state obligations to prevent, protect, investigate and provide remedies for violence against women and girls; c. commissioning or conducting research into human rights issues affecting women and girls, focusing in particular on the impact of violence on the human rights of women and girls; d. producing, publishing or otherwise disseminating research and other materials on human rights issues affecting women and girls;e. providing technical advice and briefings to government and public authorities on the human rights of women and girls, with particular focus on state obligations to prevent, protect, investigate and provide remedies for violence against women and girls; f. contributing to the sound administration of human rights law as it relates to women and girls;g. commenting on proposed human rights legislation and policy developments related to the human rights of women and girls; h. raising awareness of and educating the public about the human rights of women and girls and the impact of violence on such rights;i. promoting public support for the human rights of women and girls and their right to live lives free from violence and discrimination;j. conducting and promoting international advocacy on the human rights of women and girls and international human rights standards to eliminate violence against women and girls.where any human rights is to be advanced by means of litigation, this will be limited to establishing the primacy of relevant laws which either form part of the domestic law of the state concerned (including for the avoidance of doubt legal proceedings before any constitutional court) or are binding on that law where the state concerned has implemented the relevant treaty obligations so as to provide a competent domestic constitutional court empowered to determine this or where there is an international tribunal, the legitimacy of which has been recognised by the state concerned and whose decisions as a matter of domestic law bind the domestic law of the state concerned.in furtherance of the charity’s objects but not otherwise, the trustees shall have power to engage in political activity provided the trustees are satisfied that the proposed activities will further the purposes of the charity to an extent justified by the resources committed and the activity is not the dominant means by which the charity carries out its objects.
