to assist the parochial church council and district church council of st. alphege parish, solihull (the councils) in the maintenance of and preservation of the fabric of the main church building of st. alphege parish church, solihull (which for the avoidance of doubt excludes the graveyard, boundaries and fixtures and fittings) and forming a reserve fund to be available to meet future unexpected expenses for maintenance of the fabric of the said main church building; andto work for the public benefit and particularly for the benefit of the inhabitants of solihull metropolitan borough by stimulating interest in and care for the beauty, history and character of st. alphege parish church, solihull, one of the oldest and finest medieval buildings in the said borough, and by promoting for their benefits and for future generations its permanent preservation.
