the promotion of social inclusion among the bamer community of hackney and the surrounding areas who are socially excluded from society, or parts of society, as a result of living with or being at a greater risk of type 2 diabetes and the associated disorders, due to lack of awareness of support and unwillingness to seek help due to cultural differences, by in particular but not exclusively: 1. providing education and information to support and enable people to understand the issues connected with type 2 diabetes;2. raising public awareness of the issues affecting the bamer community in relation to the prevalence of the condition amongst the community;3. providing learning programmes and workshops to enable people to gain a better understanding of the condition and how it affects the community.
