. the preservation and protection of the environment by the promotion of environmentally sustainable livelihoods and initiatives in areas of ecological vulnerability or where habitats and species are under threat, in particular, but not exclusively by: - assisting communities in the setting up, promotion and marketing of environmental or species specific conservation projects. these may include but are not limited to: a) grassroots organisations. b) green business initiatives. - leading and supporting research into factors associated with habitat protection, nature conservation and environmental sustainability. - working with local governments to help promote and initiate nature conservation and environmental sustainability incentives; using research so that decisions can be made relating to the objective. - engaging with the global community regarding nature conservation and sustainability through multiple media channels, experiential learning opportunities (such as volunteer programmes), media outreach and work with schools and communities. - providing know-how and technical advice about these themes to all interested parties. 2. to promote the humane treatment and handling of animals both wild and domesticated by; - establishing support initiatives for species and animal groups in crisis that are otherwise underrepresented. - supporting the appropriate care, protection and welfare, and if possible rehabilitation of wild and domestic animals that have experienced abuse, are ill, or are otherwise unable to fend for themselves for whatever reason - supporting and informing the correct and humane methods to treat wild and domesticated animals used by local families and communities. - raising public awareness relating to animal welfare matters and the prevention of cruelty and suffering of animals both wild and domestic. - providing technical advice to governments and others on animal welfare matters.
