the objects of the cio are for the public benefit:(a) the advancement of the christian religion in particular but not exclusively by creating a platform which facilitates the general public to express their belief in the christian god through worship, religious education and through the creative arts (at regular events, conferences and meetings which involve various forms of art including singing, liturgical dance and theatre), through weekly prayer, fellowship, gatherings and at mid-week study meetings.(b) the relief of those in need hardship or distress in particular but not exclusively by providing shelter and assistance to individuals who have been in abusive, disadvantageous or vulnerable positions and who are in need of help throughout the united kingdom.nothing in this constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the cio for the purposes which are not charitable in accordance with section 7 of the charities and trustee investment (scotland) act 2005 and section 2 of the charities act (northern ireland) 2008.
