the objects of the cio are:to advance safe amateur water sports participation as a healthy and beneficial activity to the wider public regardless of ability, disability or background by the provision or facilitation of, but not exclusively, access to alton water reservoir, water craft and equipment hire, national and international competitive events, staff for safety and training, other supporting activities and facilities.to advance education (including physical education and personal development) for all, regardless of ability, disability or background by the provision of training relevant to sailing, rowing, windsurfing and other water sport activities, including competitions.to further the charitable purposes, in any such ways as the trustees see fit, of any charity or sports club that furthers similar charitable purposes to the cio that include amateur water sports participation, education or personal development.nothing in this constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the cio for the purposes which are not charitable in accordance with section 7 of the charities and trustee investment (scotland) act 2005 and section 2 of the charities act (northern ireland) 2008.
