1. the promotion of equality and diversity for the public benefit by: (a) the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, ethnic origin, belief, creed, ideology, politics, religion, unemployment, work status, age, health (physical or mental or emotional), addiction, domestic structure, place of origin or abode, social or financial status or life experiences.(b) advancing education in and raising awareness of equality and diversity, and their role in reconciling people; (c) promoting activities to foster understanding between people from diverse backgrounds and to resolve conflicts between them; (d) conducting or commissioning research on equality and diversity issues and their relationship with the brutal environments that breed crime, punishment, wasted potential and other harm, and publishing the results to the public; (e) cultivating a sentiment in favour of equality, diversity and the de-escalation of brutality, by nurturing personal responsibility, shared cooperation and holistic action. 2. the relief of unemployment for the benefit of the public in such ways as may be thought fit, including assistance to find employment and tackling the brutality of lack of rewarding employment; 3. to promote social inclusion for the public benefit by preventing people from becoming socially excluded, relieving the needs of those people who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate within society, and working to secure changes in society that make such integration easier, including, but not exclusively, by using leisure time activities to nurture personal responsibility, shared cooperation and holistic action. for the purpose of this clause ‘socially excluded’ means being excluded from society, or parts of society, as a result of one of more of the following factors: unemployment or lack of work status; youth or old age; ill health (physical or mental); substance abuse or dependency including alcohol and drugs; discrimination on the grounds of gender, race, disability, ethnic origin, religion, belief, creed, ideology, moral attitude, politics, sexual orientation; poor educational or skills attainment; relationship and family breakdown; domestic structure; practical difficulties including lack of driving licence, current location, poor housing (that is housing that does not meet basic habitable standards); financial hardship; crime (either as a victim of crime or as an offender rehabilitating into society); learning or educational or behavioural difficulties; difficulties with focus, concentration or inertia; lack of social or financial status; lack of emotional well-being; or poor life experiences or aspirations, treatment or problem solving; slow or delayed or unusual development; or lack of, or inappropriate, independence.4. to help young people, especially but not exclusively by using leisure time activities, so as to develop their capabilities that they may grow to full maturity as responsible individuals and fully participatory members of society.
