Objects:

1. to advance animal welfare and conservation, including by providing exemplary standards of animal health and well-being within the living collection, by contributing towards collaborative breeding programmes and by providing sanctuary for rescued, confiscated or unwanted animals that are in need of care and attention;2. to advance the education of the public in animal welfare and conservation, in particular by raising awareness of national and international issues and by delivering high quality learning opportunities which inspire a passion for and understanding of the natural world;3. to advance environmental protection, in particular by promoting and demonstrating sustainable environments to ensure the integrity of ex-situ populations and by contributing expertise and funding to effective in-situ conservation projects;4. to promote and participate in science-based research projects to assist the survival of endangered species and to further enhance animal management, the results of such research to be freely disseminated to the scientific and animal conservation worlds.
