the objects of the cio are:to advance the education of the public on the subject of astronomy, primarily but not exclusively by:a. the acquisition, preservation and maintenance of one or more telescopesb. the provision of regular meetings for members to share knowledge and skills and to hear presentations by expert speakersc. the provision of open meetings for non-members to encourage the publics knowledge of, and wider participation, in astronomyd. the provision of training sessions, workshops, conferences and seminars for members and the general publice. the provision of outreach training and learning sessions in schools, charities, community venues and other locations.
