the objects of the cio are:3.1 to advance the islamic religion in the city of leicester and in the east midlands region of england to include the counties of leicestershire, nottinghamshire, derbyshire, lincolnshire, rutland, and northamptonshire for the benefit of the public through the holding of prayer meetings, lectures, public celebration of religious festivals, producing and/or distributing literature on the islamic faith to enlighten others about the islamic religion.3.2 the teaching of islamic studies3.3 the relief of poverty of persons of the islamic faithnothing in this constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the cio for purposes which are not charitable.
