1. to promote and protect good mental and physical health and relieve sickness of people who have been affected by violent crime which may result in death from murder, manslaughter, or unlawful killing (hereinafter referred to as ‘homicide’) of their child or children or close relative or friend in nottingham, nottinghamshire and surrounding counties in particular by the promotion and delivery of services that contribute to their quality of life and wellbeing in particular but not exclusively by:· the provision of information, advice, support and self-help group sessions· working with professional and other organisations in the field of emotional and mental health well-being· working with government offices and all parts of the justice system in understanding the problems experienced by people through homicide (murder or manslaughter) 2. to promote and support research into the effects on society of murder, manslaughter and unlawful killing and to disseminate the useful results for the benefit of the public
