the objects of the cio are to advance education for the public benefit in the science of astronomy. in furtherance of this object the cio may do all or any of the following things:1. provide information, facilities, equipment, lectures, meetings and observing sessions;2. provide a society where like-minded people can meet and participate in practical observing and educational sessions on a regular basis;3. provide and operate a public observatory, for the public benefit, in the test valley or new forest districts.
